This ongoing series is documenting the current state of Hamburg Wilhemsburg, an area experiencing the bittersweet process of gentrification.
One year later...
A petition is being signed for better public transport. There is sushi now and Williamsburgers. The local flee market turns into the hippest place in town in summer. A national newspaper writes a full page article about Wilhelmsburg.
During the winter the island falls back into its usual routine: Döner places are closing and reopening again, the seagulls are fighting over the remainders of the Wednesday food market and cars are circling to find a parking space...
